I had some stutter in games, a lot of stutter in others and none in others. I'd also like to thank everyone who posted suggestions here as they were a great help.ĮDIT: I forgot to mention that minimising the desktop preview window of the the game that's playing doubled my frame rate. I also made sure that the game's processes were marked as high priority in task manager. Performance : only had "Allow Reprojection" checked ĭeveloper : Start Steamvr when application.checked, Enable VR dashboard.checked, check for Steam.checked with the setting at 1 second. I then went to Nvidia control panel and under "manage 3D settings" I chose the option "mutiple display." and selected "single display performance mode", then I went and killed Display fusion in task manager. So in order to get a smoother experience I first made a profile in display fusion called VR which basically turned my system back to a 1 monitor setup. Firstly my specs are :ģ2 GB DDR3 1600 (corsair vengeance low profile), YMMV, but the upgrade was well worth it for me.įirstly sorry for necroing this post but I had to share what improved my Vive gameplay. Night and day difference, solved my performance issues. Everything else the same (mobo, GPU, RAM, disks, etc). In the end, I upgraded my CPU from an i5 4690K to an i7 4790k. The rest are merely candidates for improving performance. The exception is anything in BOLD - those have been proven to improve performance. If it's the same, well - better luck next time. Is it better? Worse? The same? If it's better, congrats - post your success in the comments! If it's worse, post that too. Instead, baseline your performance with your current settings. I've seen several posts from people on here that have VR-capable rigs that are having the same hiccups and stutters as I am. I'm working with Owlchemy Labs on troubleshooting, but that hasn't stopped me from trying to determine how to fix it on my own! Per-core CPU usage is below max, GPU is about 50% loaded. I've been struggling getting my Vive to run cleanly in Unity games from Job Simulator, to Fantastic Contraption, to Final Approach.
